Em Burnett is a writer and creative digital technology professional based out of Portland, Maine. Em advocates for the ethical and effective use of technology to achieve social and community change.Em founded Sylvan Strategies as a home for digital engagement consulting in 2018 and has 5+ years of experience consulting on national political campaigns and nonprofits as a digital strategist, helping clients like Senator Patty Murray, the Trust for Public Land, United We Dream and the California Democratic Party effectively communicate their message online. Previously Em worked at Trilogy Interactive in Berkeley CA and at Middle Seat Co. They earned a Bachelor's Degree from McGill University in 2011.

Meg holds a degree in Sociology and Economics, and has extensive experience in analyzing social behavior, monitoring market trends, and developing industry forecasts. She also holds a certificate in graphic design & communications from the Lorenzo de' Medici School of Art in Italy and a project management certificate from the University of California Irvine. Meg has worked with federal governmental agencies, NGOs, higher education institutions, and several food + beverage startups. She specializes in fundraising/development, project planning + management, and community engagement.
